Engaging Youth and Young Adults at the Climate Stewardship Summit

This year, the Climate Stewardship Summit will have a dual focus – engaging youth and young adults on the urgency of climate change, while providing the larger religious community with the tools and education to deepen their commitment to caring for our planet.
How will we do that? We are glad you asked! We are excited to have dynamic University of Vermont junior Gina Fiorile, who has spoken at both the White House and the United Nations about the need for action on climate. Gina will also offer a workshop geared specifically towards youth and young adults called Convening Youth for Action: How to Create Your Own Youth Climate Summit, which will provide tools, tips, and resources for young people to design their own climate summit.
While Gina’s workshop is specifically for youth and young adults, the Climate Stewardship Summit will also offer a workshop for those that work with youth and young adults – religious education leaders and youth group leaders, for example. Reconnecting Children With Nature will be led by experienced religious education Sharon Ely Pearson. This workshop will give you activities that you can do in your faith community to help children engage with natural world.
