We are excited to announce that climate activist and University of Vermont student Gina Fiorile will be our keynote speaker at the Climate Stewardship Summit. An environmental studies major, Gina has been honored with numerous awards, including being honored as a “Champion of Change” at the White House in 2016. As a result, she has spoken at the White House and the United Nations on the moral imperative and urgency to address climate change. She also was a key organizer for the highly successful three-day Adirondack Youth Climate Summit in 2015 and was featured in the PBS documentary, The Resilient Ones: A Generation Takes On Climate Change.

Our Time to Lead: Youth Engagement in Climate Change
Youth are not just the leaders of tomorrow, they are the leaders of today. Students are taking action on climate change around the world, and are cause for hope. Our greatest asset during this period of social and ecological change in is an increase in climate education, so that future and current leaders are better prepared to catalyze positive change.
Gina will also be leading a workshop for youth on how to organize a youth climate summit. This workshop is geared for youth and young adults. If you are young person between the ages of 15 – 29, please come to Gina’s workshop!
Convening Youth for Action: How to Create Your Own Youth Climate Summit
The Youth Climate Summit model is a participant-driven educational conference for youth produced by any organization to create an opportunity for learning, dialogue and action on climate change. Learn more about the Youth Climate Summit model that The Wild Center, Natural History Museum of the Adirondacks developed and tested over the last 6 years and has now been recognized by The White House. Tools, tips, and resources on convening youth and building your own Youth Climate Summit will be shared.
