On June 30, over 600 people gathered at the United Nations to hear Cardinal Turkson, the President of the Ponifical Academy of Peace and Justice, present the Pope’s encyclical on the moral call to care for the planet. On May 31, IREJN presented the CT Climate March with our friends at 350CT, the Sierra Club, and the CT Coalition for Environmental Justice. Over 600 people came out to march for climate justice! The March ended at the Hartford Earth Festival, where people listened to great music, ate tasty local food, and got involved with some of the greatest environmental organizations in CT!
Yale University will host a panel discussion on the Pope’s much anticipated encyclical on April 8 at 5:30pm. Moderated by John Grim, the panel will include six experts from six different disciplines who will discuss the impact the encyclical will have from a variety of perspectives.
