The Spectra AIM Pipeline, which is scheduled to go through NY, CT, MA, and RI, is facing serious opposition in all four states. The efforts of grassroots organizers got a boost recently when both New York Senators, Senator Schumer and Senator Gillibrand, wrote to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), calling them to immediately halt construction of the pipeline. “In light of the public comment in opposition to this project, we are requesting that FERC suspend construction.”
The Spectra AIM pipeline must be stopped – not only will it bring fracked gas into our state, but it will make it impossible for CT to meet our state and national climate goals due to the incredibly damaging effect that methane has on the climate.
Please call Senator Murphy and Senator Blumenthal and ask them to join Senator Schumer and Senator Gillibrand in calling for a halt to construction.
