Interreligious Eco-Justice Network’s first Legislative Prayer Breakfast on Tuesday, April 16 from 8:30 am – 10:00 am in Room 310 at the State Capitol Building. Breakfast will be available at 8:30 am and our program will be from 9:00 am – 9: 40 am.
Caring for the planet and all its inhabitants is a part of every faith tradition. We will hear prayers for the planet, clean air, clean water, wildlife, and environmental justice from religious leaders representing Christian, Jewish, Muslim, Buddhist, and Unitarian faiths.
Religious leaders will include Rev. Nancy Leckerling, IREJN Board Chair, Rev. Darrell Goodwin, Southern New England United Church of Christ, Rev. Samuel Blanks, Metropolitan AME Zion Church, Rabbi Joshua Ratner, Or Hadash, Imam Safwan Shaikh, Farmington Valley American Muslim Center, Venerable Shim Bo , White Lotus Haven Zen of CT, Rev. Carolyn Patierno, All Souls Unitarian Universalist Congregation, Rabbi Jeremy Schwartz, Temple Bnai Israel, and Rev. Mia Douglas.
Environmental champions, Rep. Christine Palm and Rep. Aundre Bumgardner, will orovide a legislative update and information about how we can put our faith into action.
