Green Forum on Divestment on Sunday, June 2

Fossil fuels are not only bad for our planet – they are bad for our portfolios, too! During this forum, you will learn why investments with fossil fuel stocks consistently underperform investments without them. You will also learn how church endowment funds and individual investors can thoughtfully and strategically divest from fossil fuels (whether you are currently invested in stocks or in mutual funds).

Our Keynote speaker will be Rev. Fletcher Harper, Executive Director for Green Faith, who will join us via video.  Our panel session will include Brett Greefield, Portfolio Manager for Aris Faith Based Fund, financial investment advisor Michael Winterfield, and Henry May, Endowment Chair, who successfully led the effort to divest at First Congregational Church.  Bill McKibben will also participate with a recorded video especially for us!

During apartheid, divestment was a powerful strategy for change. It is time to divest from fossil fuels and move our country to 100% renewable energy.

Hosted and sponsored by the Immanuel Congregational Church  and co-sponsored by the Interreligious Eco-Justice Network.

FREE, but please RSVP.
