Jameelah Muhammad

Jameelah is originally from Metro-Detroit Michigan, with roots and family in Oakland and Wayne County Michigan. Throughout high school and college she worked on interfaith projects and youth empowerment projects with youth in Detroit and on her campus. After finishing her degree, Jameelah moved to New York City where she worked on diverse community organizing projects in New York City focused on Food Justice/Food Security, Faith-Based Organizing, and Workforce Development in preparation for a Green Economy. She developed close relationships with many labor organizations while in this role and also completed her Masters in Labor Studies from the City University of NY. Jameelah is a long-time Sierra Club member/volunteer and alumnus of the Sierra Student Coalition program. She is currently the Deputy Director of the Outdoors for All Campaign at the Sierra Club.
