Born and raised in Connecticut, Lynn has deep roots in an ethic for the land and in caring for creation. After receiving an MA in Religious Studies from Hartford Seminary in 1993, Lynn Fulkerson served as chair of the newly formed CT Diocesan Committee on the Environment. It was during this time that Lynn joined together with members of other faith traditions to address eco-justice issues in our public policy. Together with the Rev. Thomas Carr, she founded the Interreligious Eco-Justice Network (IREJN) in 2000.
In 2009, Lynn co-founded the Litchfield Energy Task Force and served as a member of Litchfield Green Team. She was also on the Board of Directors of the Northwest Conservation District and received their Conservation Award in 2017. Currently Lynn is engaged as a member of the Church of Christ Congregational of Goshen’s Mission 4/1 Earth Ministry.
Since retiring from the Board of Directors of IREJN in 2019, Lynn has worked on local environmental legislation helping to pass a town ordinance banning the disposal and use of fracking waste in Litchfield
Having had experience creating two community garden’s in Torrington, in 2014 she and others established the Goshen Green Garden that raises fresh organic vegetables and distributes to those in need in the greater community. Creating pollinator pathway gardens is her current project and passion.
In 2019, Lynn and her husband John received the Wisdom House Community Service Award.
She is also an avid cyclist and a 30+year member and founder of the local Spokeswomen who tour the Litchfield Hills and the southern Berkshires. Lynn and her husband John live in Litchfield in their passive solar home built in 1996 with geothermal and photovoltaic solar. They are active gardeners with a vineyard and organic vegetable garden.
