This Historic House of Worship

Energy efficiency and clean energy projects often dovetail with building improvement projects. In addition, houses of worship are often located in historic districts as designated by local, state, or federal authorities, or they may be designated as historic buildings themselves. There is quite a bit of funding available for historic restorations and building improvements, so IREJN was very excited to host Jane Montanaro, Executive Director for Preservation CT about the funding available for houses of worship.

More information about organ funding: Unfortunately, there isn’t a ton of assistance out there for funding organ repair – most congregations have to fund repairs through captial campaigns. This program would be useful in a campaign: https://www.hartfordago.org/grants-for-projects This isn’t specifically for pipe organ restoration, but it is a Fund dedicated to events related to organs in the Greater Hartford Area. It may allow congregations to bring awareness/run a parallel funding campaign for repairs, etc.

Many congregations use a local firm out of Tolland, Connecticut for their restorations.  https://foleybaker.com/
