Over the past 10 years, houses of worship in Connecticut have accelerated in creating community organic gardens, producing high-quality fruits and vegetables and herbs which are then donated to community groups. Co-authored by Jameelah Muhammad, Letty Naigles, and Rev. Virginia Army with input from the gardeners!
Many houses of worship are interested in solar, but the process of financing and installation can seem daunting. Please read IREJN’s step-by-step guide to acquiring solar, which includes information about energy efficiency, placement, financing for solar panels. You will also learn about community-shared solar, a wonderful option for houses of worship that can’t install a solar array.
In support of the youth global climate strike, we are asking everyone to walk, bike, carpool, or take public transportation to their house of worship on the weekend of September 20 through September 22. Please RSVP and let us know you will be participating!
IREJN is proud to announce our Green Forum series for the 2019-2020 season. We are adding more forums and locations, so please check back regularly. Our Green Forums are a chance to get educated and TAKE ACTION! Our Green Forums include light refreshments and educational materials.
