Over the past 10 years, houses of worship in Connecticut have accelerated in creating community organic gardens, producing high-quality fruits and vegetables and herbs which are then donated to community groups. Co-authored by Jameelah Muhammad, Letty Naigles, and Rev. Virginia Army with input from the gardeners!
IREJN is proud to announce our Green Forum series for the 2019-2020 season. We are adding more forums and locations, so please check back regularly. Our Green Forums are a chance to get educated and TAKE ACTION! Our Green Forums include light refreshments and educational materials. To increase accessibility, they are free, but we ask for donations from anyone who is able to support our work. Even a few dollars makes a difference!
Showing an environmental film is a great way to educate your community. To assist you in your work to build an environmental ministry, IREJN has complied a list of recommended environmental films for your religious community to screen at your house of worship.

Last March 31, Father Sam Fuller, a friend, colleague and activist on behalf of God’s creation and all people and board member of IREJN, participated in a one day conference, Opportunities to Raise Public Awareness about Climate Change and the Need for Action, convened by the NYC Bar Association held at their headquarters in downtown Manhattan. Sam was invited to serve on a panel to discuss the implications of the Papal Encyclical, issued in June, 2015. Read more and download the full report.
This year, the Climate Stewardship Summit will have a dual focus – engaging youth and young adults on the urgency of climate change, while providing the larger religious community with the tools and education to deepen their commitment to caring for our planet.
