Our corner of Creation, one of the smallest and most densely populated states, is on a path for permanent contamination. Current state law mandates that DEEP submit regulations for review, as early as this summer, regarding fracking waste brought to CT from other states. Last March 31, Father Sam Fuller, a friend, colleague and activist on behalf of God’s creation and all people and board member of IREJN, participated in a one day conference, Opportunities to Raise Public Awareness about Climate Change and the Need for Action, convened by the NYC Bar Association held at their headquarters in downtown Manhattan. The President-Elect has nominated Scott Pruitt, who is not only a climate denier, but is also currently involved in a lawsuit AGAINST the EPA, the very agency he is supposed to lead. This is a truly terrible choice and serves to underscore the President-Elect’s lack of concern for our planet and its inhabitants.

The efforst to halt the Spectra AIM pipeline were bolstered this week when both New York Senators, Senator Schumer and Senator Gillibrand, called for the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission to halt construction of the pipeline.
